More than three years after their wedding, Paul Wesley and his wife Ines de Ramon have separated. The Vampire Diaries alum, 40, and jewellery expert Ramon, 32, were first romantically associated in June 2018 after being photographed holding hands in New York City following a dinner date. The following month, while attending a wedding in Montauk, New York, with friends Nina Dobrev and Jessica Szohr, they declared their relationship on Instagram official. They later got married in secret at the beginning of 2019.
"The decision to split ways was cordially made five months ago. They now ask to stay quiet," a spokesperson told People magazine in a statement.
Wesley discussed quarantine and life at home with Ramon and their dog Greg during the COVID-19 outbreak in an interview with PEOPLE for the 2020 Sexiest Man Alive issue. Wesley said that for him, having a break was essential. He remarked, "I'm in a fortunate position where I could do so. "I begin afresh. I changed the scale. I figured out what was most essential to me and changed the order of my priorities."
On Candice King and Kayla Ewell's "Directionally Challenged" podcast, Wesley's "Vampire Diaries" co-star Nina Dobrev referred to de Ramon as the actor's "wife," further confirming their relationship.
The actor from "Fallen," and de Ramon, were married in 2019 amid a low-key ceremony attended by family and friends. It wasn't until they were spotted wearing wedding bands months later that word of their marriage broke.
As soon as Wesley was seen in New York with model Natalie Kuckenburg while missing his wedding band, rumours about the couple's separation began to circulate. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is where Paul Wesley's last glimpse came through.
