Teri baaton mein aisa uljha jiya review : A robot and human love story lacks narrative

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (TBMAUJ), written and directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah for Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films and Jio Studios, is a rom-com that masquerades as a family drama but is neither. Alongside veteran actors Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia, the film features Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles.

Synopsis

The plot revolves around Aryan Agnihotri (Shahid Kapoor), a robotics engineer, who travels to the US to work on a new project for his boss and maasi, Urmila (Dimple Kapadia). There, Sifra (Kriti Sanon), her manager, takes care of him. She is a robot designed to make him fall in love. And he does. However, he is furious at being used as a test subject for a lab when he learns of her reality. But he can't help but be attached to her, so he persuades his maasi to send her to India, where she will face the ultimate test: surviving a large, dysfunctional Indian family that is fixated on Aryan marriage.

TBMAUJ Review

The current subject lately has been whether artificial intelligence (AI) can match human intelligence and whether it will someday take our employment. The romantic comedy from writer-directors Aradhana Sah and Amit Joshi investigates whether or not a romance with a robot may be realistic.

Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah present a fresh, lighthearted, and enjoyable idea in an oddball setting. The ridiculous circumstances that the human-robot pair runs into throughout the journey are what make this story funny. But the narrative drags, and the parts where Aryan's family becomes friendly with Sifra feel rushed. After a significant twist, the plot takes off towards the finish.

a unique love story starring shahid and kriti

The idea is original, but in trying to develop the plot around it, the narrative frequently finds itself running in circles. The dispute between humans and machines is also discussed in the film, as is the responsible use of robots and AI. This section appears rushed and concludes very abruptly.

The film's popularity stems from its romance, and Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon have excellent on-screen chemistry. Kriti is hilarious with her on-the-spot laughs and poker-faced robotic performance. She plays every scenario where she stumbles in the human world with skill. Shahid plays an irreverent man who is madly in love with her, and he nails the part. Shahid's grandfather, Dharmendra, is endearing, and Dimple Kapadia is a delight to see. A fantastic soundtrack is provided by Sachin-Jigar, Tanishk Bagchi, and Mitraz; the standout tracks include Laal Peeli Ankhiyan and the title track (a remix of Raghav's Angel Eyes).

Watch or not?

In a time when massively action-packed films are the talk of the town, this one is a welcome change of pace, complete with humor and a catchy soundtrack. Although it doesn't take off as effortlessly and becomes repetitious, the situational humor is still enjoyable when it does and is a good one-time watch.
