Sushma Seth, an Indian film, television, and stage actress, best known for her roles in Hindi films and TV shows, will be conferred with the ‘Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META) 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award.’ The award show will take place at Kamani Auditorium in Delhi. She will be felicitated during the award ceremony that will take place on March 29.
Prior to the main award ceremony, a week-long festival will take place from 23rd to 28th March where META 2023's ten-shortlisted plays will be performed for an esteemed panel of jury members, as well as the invited guests and audiences.
Sushma Seth was born on June 20, 1936, in Delhi, India. She is also a prominent theater actress and was a member of the founder group of the Delhi-based theatre group, Yatrik. She started her career in the 1950s and bagged her first movie ‘Junoon’ in 1978. She is known for playing strong and independent female characters and for her ability to portray a range of emotions on screen. She has worked in multiple movies such as ‘Kal ho na ho’(2003),’ Shandaar’(2015),’ Mehram’(2017),’ Student of the Year' (2012),’ Ek jhalak-a glimpse’(2021), 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham'(2001) and many more.
