On Sunday evening, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal got married at her residence amid friends and family in a civil ceremony. Sonakshi and Zaheer also released the first images from their all-white wedding. According to accounts, the stunning bride chose an incredibly personal outfit for the big day. On her wedding day, Sonakshi Sinha decided to wear her mother Poonam Sinha's old saree. Her vintage jewellery, which also belonged to her mother, went beautifully with her off-white saree. The saree was originally worn by her mother 44 years ago at her wedding.
Later in the evening, the couple threw a celebratory bash at Mumbai's celebrity-favorite restaurant Bastian, which turned out to be a star-studded affair. Sonakshi was spotted walking in with her husband Zaheer Iqbal while wearing a crimson saree and a sindoor. The couple hosted a private party for friends and family on June 20 and a mehendi ceremony on June 21 before the festivities on Sunday.

After seven years of dating, both of them decided to use the Special Marriage Act to get married civilly, which was a big step in their marriage. Moments after her interfaith wedding, actor and parliamentarian Shatrughan Sinha's daughter posted pictures of their interfaith wedding and thanked "both our families and both our gods" for their blessings. Sonakshi and Zaheer disabled comments on their posts to prevent hate speech and trolling on such a joyous occasion.
