SLB Launches 'Heeramandi's' Track at Miss World: "Bhansali Music" First Release

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has ventured into new territory with the debut of his music label, Bhansali Music upon reflecting his deep passion for music and its significance in his cinematic masterpieces, including Padmavat, Bajirao Mastani and Gangubai Kathiawadi.

SLB’s Music label, ‘Bhansali Music’ released its first song, 'Sakal Ban,' from his upcoming project 'Heeramandi’ on the global stage of Miss World. It is for the first time a song had a world stage launch on the prestigious podium of 'Miss World'.

Springtime brings a sense of rejuvenation and celebration, and Bhansali has chosen to welcome this vibrant season with 'Sakal Ban’, featuring all the leading ladies of 'Heeramandi'. 

The track, sung by Raja Hasan, is adorned with the poetry of Amir Khusro, and blends traditional folk music with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s signature grandeur.

About ‘Heeramandi’

The series, set to stream on Netflix, marks the OTT debut of acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Directed by Bhansali himself, the period drama is described as an "epic saga of love, power, betrayal, struggle, and, ultimately, freedom," against the backdrop of the freedom movement.

'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' is set amidst the multiple power struggles of Heeramandi, Lahore (now part of Pakistan), and the broader landscape of undivided, pre-independence India, characterized by emerging anti-colonial freedom movements.

The series revolves around the leading ladies of 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' – Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal. It also features Shekhar Suman, Fardeen Khan, Adhyayan Suman, and Taha Shah, portraying powerful characters.
