About Singham Again
Singham Again is the third movie in the cop drama series that started in 2011. It's directed by Rohit Shetty and stars Ajay Devgn as the brave cop once again. Featuring alongside him are Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff, among many others. Given its action-packed storyline and star-studded lineup, Singham Again was to rule the screens, which it did by taking 60% of cinema halls across India.
About Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3
Kartik Aaryan stars in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, a sequel to the horror-comedy that established the classic of 2007 directed by Priyadarshan. Set in Kolkata, West Bengal, this brings back Vidya Balan in the iconic role of Avni/Manjulika along with Madhuri Dixit Nene and Triptii Dimri. This did manage to attract its own huge following despite going up against Singham Again.
Box Office Face-Off Day 1: Who's Winning?
Early reports from Sacnilk.com are suggesting that Singham Again was the Day 1 grosser at ₹43.5 crore, and this opening would put it on top in the box office face-off. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 still managed to make its presence felt with ₹35.5 crore on its opening day, which was a record opening for Kartik Aaryan.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has crossed Kartik's earlier all-time blockbusters Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Luka Chuppi in its audience pull, thereby, showing the development of this youth icon.
Trade Experts' Views
The buzz over both films has the cinema owners and trade analysts going optimistic. Singham Again leads marginally in collections and screens, and according to experts, its advantage at the box office. "I am excited because for the first time in their careers, both films will bring something unique to audiences—be it a thrilling cop drama or a funny horror-comedy," said film analyst Taran Adarsh.
The added, "The buzz is great about both the movies. It would be nice to see if they would combine for a win-winner if this is an upward trajectory.".
The prospects of Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 holding on to the box office are good given that Diwali festivities are still on. For action film lovers, there will be interest in Singham Again, while there will be fans for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3; their run should therefore last into the next couple of weeks.
