K-pop sensation Seventeen is making history by representing K-pop at the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum in Paris on November 14-15. They'll deliver a speech and a special performance in a 60-minute session at UNESCO Headquarters. This unique opportunity emphasizes the power of youth, education, and solidarity in shaping a brighter future, marking the first time a musical artist has been invited to the forum.
The UNESCO Youth Forum provides a platform for global youth engagement and dialogue during the UNESCO General Conference, uniting representatives from 194 Member States, UN-related youth organizations, and NGOs worldwide. Prior to the event, PLEDIS Entertainment, UNESCO, and the Korean National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU) expanded their partnership, reinforcing Seventeen's commitment to education and youth initiatives.
Seventeen's involvement stems from their global '#GoingTogether' campaign launched in August 2022. They've been actively supporting education, including donating a portion of their 'Be The Sun' world tour proceeds to aid children's education in Malawi and raising awareness about education accessibility.
This collaboration with UNESCO coincides with Seventeen's recent release of their mini album/EP 'Seventeenth Heaven,' adding to the excitement in the world of K-pop.
