Deep Purple, the legendary British rock band known for hits like "Smoke on the Water," "Soldier of Fortune," and "Highway Star," is set to make its third visit to India.
The band's return to India as headliners for the Bandland music festival in Bengaluru has generated immense interest among fans across the country. To meet this overwhelming demand, BookMyShow Live is organising a special pre-festival event in Gurugram on December 15, 2023, just before their main performance at the Bandland music festival in Bengaluru on December 16 and 17. They will be joined by the renowned Delhi-based classic rock band, Parikrama, as they support Deep Purple.
In a statement, vocalist Ian Gillan expressed his excitement about returning to India, saying, "I'm very excited to be going back to India; it's been years, and I can't wait! I've carried the spirit of India with me ever since I last performed there."
This Rock Icons Deep Purple consisting Roger Glover on guitar, Simon McBride on bass, Ian Gillan and Ian Paice as vocalists, and Don Airey on drums has previously toured to India in 1995 (Mumbai) and 2006 (Bengaluru) and now in 2023. India has already seen performances by international rock acts like The Strokes, Backstreet Boys, and Imagine Dragons, this year.
Deep Purple, originating from Hertford, England, made their mark during the vibrant music scene of the 1960s. They pioneered a unique fusion of hard rock and classical elements, which was truly groundbreaking. This iconic band has continued to rock both stages and music charts for more than five decades.
Deep Purple has achieved remarkable success with over 100 million records sold worldwide. They are rightfully considered pioneers in the heavy metal and modern hard rock genres. Their 21st studio album, featuring 13 tracks and collaborations with producer Bob Ezrin, reached the impressive #4 position on the German album charts and received positive reviews from critics.
Tickets for "Bandland Arena: Deep Purple - Live in Concert" in Gurugram will become available at 6 pm on November 6, 2023. Tickets for the Gurugram concert will be available for purchase starting from November 6 on BookMyShow.com.
