Friday: A leading actor of Hindi cinema, Ajay Devgan begins the new year start by filming the highly anticipated Raid 2, which will be directed by Rajkumar Gupta. Vaani Kapoor joins him as the female lead in this thriller. The makers announced a November 15, 2024 release date and promised another heroic take on India's black money racket. Reportedly, Rajkumar Gupta has cast Riteish Deshmukh in the negative role in Raid 2.

Raid 2 takes the franchise to a whole new level with an intense battle between the hero and the villain. In this film, Ajay Devgn portrays the role of IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who sets his sights on Riteish Deshmukh as his next target.

The first part of the movie was released on March 16, 2018, inspired by a real Income Tax raid that took place in 1981. The raid was conducted on the property of Sardar Inder Singh, a businessman and former MP from Kanpur. It holds the record for being the longest Income Tax raid in the history of Independent India.
Riteish Deshmukh and Ajay Devgn, known for their comedy roles, will face off in Raid 2, marking a genre shift after they collaborated in Total Dhamaal. The film features intense dialogue exchanges and delivers exceptional performances as negative leads, marking a significant shift in their collaboration.
Releasing this November
Ajay Devgn's critically acclaimed film 'Raid' is getting a sequel. The film, directed by Rajkumar Gupta and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar, began shooting on January 6 in Mumbai.
The film is set to be shot extensively in Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Raid 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar. Panorama Studios produced the film, which is being presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series. The film will be released in theatres on November 15, 2024.
Interestingly, Raid 2 and Singham, both of which feature Ajay Devgan, are the two awaited sequels of 2024.
