RIP Dumbledore: Sir Michael Gambon passes away at 82

Sir Michael Gambon, a famous Hollywood actor who played Professor Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films, has died at the age of 82. According to  Mirror UK, the actor died in hospital after contracting pneumonia. During his last time, his wife and son were present by his side.

According to UK News, his family shared a saddening announcement,  “We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon. Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside, following a bout of pneumonia. Michael was 82. We ask that you respect our privacy at this painful time and thank you for your messages of support and love.”

Fans expressed their sorrow over the passing of the icon on X.com, with one expressing their admiration for the actor for his numerous roles. 

Another user expressed, "RIP Mr. Gambon, you will be missed for many years to come. Millennials are in mourning."

The Irish-British actor had a career spanning nearly five decades and won four BAFTAs, two RTS Awards, and an Olivier Award. However, he is best known to Harry Potter fans for his role as Professor Albus Dumbledore in the J.K. Rowling film series from 2004 to 2008, taking over from the original actor, Richard Harris, who died.
