Rihanna to lend her voice for the character of Smurfette in 'The Smurfs Movie'

Rihanna announced that she will play Smurfette in Paramount Pictures' The Smurfs Movie on Thursday at CinemaCon Day Four in Las Vegas.

The 35-year-old Lift Me Up singer, who is expecting her second child with rapper A$AP Rocky, walked onto the Caesar's Palace stage in a stonewashed denim cape dress and matching thigh-high boots.

Under the bright stage lights, she added smaller, delicate earrings and a sparkling necklace made of diamonds and sapphires. According to the sources, the Grammy winner jokingly stated, "I tried to get the Papa Smurf role but it didn't work out" after announcing that she will voice Smurfette in the live-action film.

The project will not only have Rihanna as a lead role, but she will also be a producer and write and record her own songs for the movie, which will be released in theaters later in February 2025. At the occasion, the star, who uncovered that she was in the third trimester of her subsequent pregnancy, was likewise joined by Ramsey Naito, the head of Vital Movement.

According to the sources, the upcoming movie will simply answer the question, "What is a Smurf?" as its "central" theme and question. The story has as of late been shown on the big screen, recalling 2011 with The Smurfs from Columbia Pictures which acquired around $563 million in the films.
