In collaboration with Adult Swim and Telecom Animation Film, HBO Max, Rick & Morty: The Anime was revealed. A poster for Rick & Morty: The Anime, which featured the animated version of eccentric scientist Rick Sanchez and his nephew Morty, was one of the new project announcements which were made by the streaming service on Wednesday. The same poster was shared on HBO Max's Twitter page.
The Rick & Morty anime project was given to Adult Swim by HBO Max to work on in 2022. The disclosure and a previous Adult Swim short movie reveal that the character design is almost exactly the same as that of the 2020 anime short Rick and Morty vs. Genocider.
As part of this series, Tower of God director, Takashi Sano, was reportedly said to be returning. The replacement of Rick and Morty's voice actors was also revealed prior to this announcement. Main voice actor Justin Roiland was sacked from the series as a result of the domestic violence allegation made against him. HBO Max has not yet said when Rick & Morty: The Anime will premiere, although it is expected to happen this year. This whole season is available for binge-watching on the day it premieres on Disney+ and HBO Max.
During the Rick and Morty short film Sano stated, “The multiverse-straddling exploits of Rick and the gang pose challenges to the family bond, but they always rise to the occasion. It’s such a life-affirming sight, and Jerry is no exception. I am honored to have been given an opportunity to tell a new story about this amazing family. I hope you enjoy their adventures!”
