International icon Priyanka Chopra gets awarded at the Red Sea Film Festival 2024 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The actress attended the award night with her husband Nick Jonas and they both looked astonishing. Priyanka Chopra Jonas received the award from ‘Sex and the City’ actress Sarah Jessica Parker, who also praised the Indian actress. Sarah said it is an honour to present this special award to Citadel actress.
While receiving the award from Sarah, Priyanka thanked the actress and said, “Sarah, you are such an icon to so many of us. Thank you for taking the time to say those kind words about me and my work over the years. It meant a lot to me.”
Priyanka also lauded the Red Sea Film Festival for honouring her and recalled that she came to the film festival 2 years ago. She applauded the jury for allowing non-English films to be appreciated at the international level. The ‘Mary Kom’ actress recalled her career journey in her thank you speech at Red Sea Film Festival. She said, “When I started working, I was 18 years old. I come from an industry that spoke Hindi and Telugu, basically non-English films. I remember when I was seeking work across borders, and I was told that non-English films do not travel. Yet, we are here today.”
Priyanka alongside her husband Nick Jonas graced the red carpet and she was welcomed with the ‘Desi Girl’ song by her fans at the film festival. Priyanka dons an amazing silver bodycon floor-length gown, while her husband can be seen in a black suit with a black bow tie. Nick was cheering for wife Priyanka when she was receiving the award. Priyanka also mentioned her husband and late father in her award winning speech.
She mentioned, "My wonderful husband is here, waiting to escort me down, the gentleman that he is. My father was the first entertainer I ever knew. I lost him in 2013, but he showed me how much joy there is in being the person in the middle of a party.”
The ‘Miss World 2000’ Priyanka also shared some pictures of the film festival on social media Instagram. She congratulated other winners and participants and also thanked the Red Sea Film Festival for the wonderful honour.
Focusing on the Bollywood-turned-Hollywood actress awards, Priyanka has plenty of awards at International level as well as two National Film Awards. Before shifting her base permanently to Los Angeles in 2015, the actress was awarded with 5 Filmfare Awards for her performances in Hindi cinema. Priyanka was one of the leading Bollywood actresses and she proved her mettle as an actor with her versatility in performances in movies like 7 Khoon Maaf, Kaminey, Mary Kom, Bajirao Mastani, Fashion.
Priyanka also interacted with the media at the film festival and shared some incidents from her professional life. She shared how she grabbed her first Indian superhero movie ‘Krrish’, when producer-director Rakesh Roshan spotted her at one funeral. On the professional front, Priyanka recently shared on her social media that she wrapped up the shooting of next season of Russo Brother directorial ‘Citadel’. Besides Citadel, she will be seen in two upcoming Hollywood movies ‘Heads of State’ and ‘The Bluff’. Priyanka’s last Hindi film was the 2019 released ‘The Sky Is Pink’, and since then she hasn’t worked in any Hindi film. However, she always takes time to praise Indian content on social media.
