The SRK- starrer ‘ Pathaan ’ has been demolishing box-office records. Now the espionage suspense has added another decoration feather to its cap It has entered the hallowed ‘1000 crore club ’!
The Deepika Padukone- John Abraham film is said to have surpassed the Rs 1000 crore mark. Box-office collections. The movie earned Rs 623 crore in terms of gross domestic box office collections and Rs 377 crore overseas, bringing the total tale to, 1000.
With this feat, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer becomes the fifth film with such an achievement, just after Aamir Khan’s ‘ Dangal ’( Rs crore), Prabhas and Anushka Shetty’s fantasy grand ‘ Baahubali 2 The Conclusion ’( Rs crore), Prashanth Neel- directorial ‘ KGF Chapter 2 ’( Rs, 208 crore), and SS Rajamouli’s ‘ RRR ’( Rs, 170 crore).
Trade critic Taran Adarsh twittered that the action suspense has crossed Rs 500 crore on the home turf, the only Hindi film with such a feat to date. “ Pathaan will transgress Rs 500 crore mark moment,( fourth Tue; Day 28)
The Siddharth Anand directorial marks Khan’s return to the big screen after nearly five times of hiatus. It also marks Abraham’s return as an antagonist in a YRF( Yash Raj flicks) movie, nearly two decades after the 2004 action- adventure ‘ Dhoom ’ where he played Kabir, a debonair stealer ahead, the movie grossed further than$ 100 million at the global box office without a theatrical release in China.
SRK will next be seen in the action suspense ‘ Jawan ’. Directed by Tamil director Atlee, the film marks Tamil megastar Nayanthara’s Bollywood debut. Down from this, he will also be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s social comedy ‘ Dunki ’ contrary Taapsee Pannu.
