James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water (Rs 39.87 crore net) is one of six Hollywood films that did better on Day 1 in India following the pandemic. Spider-Man: Absolutely no chance Home (Rs 32.67 crore nett), Specialist Abnormal: In Multiverse Of Franticness (Rs 28.74 crore nett), Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: (Rs 18.48 crore net), Ant-Man and the Wasp: Wakanda Forever (Rs 11.93 crore net) and Quantumania (Rs 9 crore nett).
The Kerala Story, directed by Sudipto Sen, was one of the Indian releases this week. On its opening day, it earned Rs 7.5 crore net domestically. According to Box Office India, Sudhir Mishra's political thriller Afwaah, which had a limited theatrical release, brought in Rs 25 lakh net on Friday.
