Netflix in India is imposing restrictions on account and password sharing

Netflix has put restrictions on password sharing in India from Thursday, 20 July. So now, sharing account with friends by sharing costs won't be possible. Earlier, we used to have one account amongst different households. Because of that, Netflix faced adverse effects on revenue. To overcome this situation, Netflix has made a new rule which will allow users to use an account within a single household. And if one tries to share it with a member of another household, the necessary action will be taken by Netflix regarding that particular account and the person will receive the mail regarding the same.

As per the new system, everyone from one household can use one Netflix account. They can access it at home or if they go out on holiday through services like transfer profile, manage access and devices. The 'Netflix household' concept is about people living together in the same house, so any outsiders won't be able to access that account, as per the new system.

Netflix implemented this system earlier in the US this year and later on in 100 countries like France, Germany, Britain, Brazil, Singapore and Australia.

This is a part of the different strategies Netflix is trying worldwide. This step may add to the number of Netflix subscribers throughout the world.
