The Met Gala is an annual event that brings together celebrities and designers from around the world to showcase their unique looks based on the year's theme. This year, the Met Gala is paying homage to the late German designer, Karl Lagerfeld, with the theme "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty."
Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway stole the show at the Met Gala by combining two fashion powerhouses in her outfit. The 40-year-old actress arrived at the fashion event wearing a stunning white tweed outfit designed by Versace, with whom she recently became a campaign star.Hathaway's dress featured a curvy full-body slit that was held together by gold safety pins adorned with pearls. The dress was inspired by Chanel's signature camellia flower, which was also reflected in the cups. She completed the ensemble with a matching jacket, arm cuffs, and Bulgari jewelry.
Anne Hathaway referred to her look as a "marriage between Versace and Chanel." She even incorporated a bit of fashion history into her hairstyle. Her stylist, Orlando Pita, created a camellia-inspired bun for her half-up hairstyle that was inspired by '90s Versace.
Rihanna
One of the standout moments from the event was when Rihanna graced the red carpet, proudly displaying her baby bump. She arrived in a stunning white Valentino gown with a jacket adorned in 3D white floral motifs. Rihanna completed the look with white-rimmed sunglasses, dramatic eyelash extensions, fingerless gloves, and a sleek hairdo. Later in the evening, she removed the jacket, revealing her bump while donning a stylish shrug.
Karlie Kloss
Model Karlie Kloss also made a pregnancy announcement on the Met Gala red carpet, posing alongside her husband, Joshua Kushner. Karlie looked stunning in a sleek, body-fitted column dress that accentuated her baby bump. She paired the dress with long pearl necklaces and beading around her waist, making for an elegant ensemble.
Serena Williams
Tennis star Serena Williams also announced her pregnancy at the event, sharing pictures on Instagram. In one photo, she can be seen cradling her baby bump while wearing a stunning Gucci bodycon dress, embellished jacket, and tulle white skirt. Serena attended the Met Gala with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, and her ensemble was perfectly in line with the theme of the night. She wore multiple layered pearl necklaces, a beaded headgear, and a dramatic eye look.
Jennie Kim
Jennie Kim, from the K-Pop group BLACKPINK, made her Met Gala debut this year, after headlining at Coachella 2023 and completing the Born Pink World Tour. Known for her impeccable sense of fashion, Jennie appeared at the event in a vintage Chanel white mini dress from the brand's 1990 Autumn collection, complete with a white rose and black ribbon belt. She accessorized the look with black tights and heels, along with opera gloves and a simple ribbon choker. Her hair was styled with a headband braid, and her long locks flowed down her back, perfectly complementing her Chanel outfit.
Jackson Wang
Fellow K-Pop artist Jackson Wang from GOT7 also made an appearance at the Met Gala, wearing an all-black Louis Vuitton ensemble that paid tribute to the event's theme, honoring the late designer Karl Lagerfeld. Wang dyed his hair in an ashy color to match Lagerfeld's iconic white locks and wore a black military jacket paired with almost-fitted black slacks and shining black shoes. To complete the look, he donned Lagerfeld's signature accessories: black gloves and sunglasses, giving off a strong and stylish vibe. The military jacket hugged Wang's physique perfectly, making him look sharp and fashionable on the Met Gala 2023 Red Carpet.
