In IIFA 2023, R. Madhavan's film "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect" took home the Best Director prize. On their official Instagram account, IIFA posted a picture with the caption, "The directorial talent of R. Madhavan takes centre stage at IIFA 2023 as he wins the IIFA trophy in the category of "Direction" for his masterpiece, "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect." In his debut as a director, R. Madhavan created the 2022 Indian biographical drama film "Rocketry," which he also produced and wrote.
The character Madhavan, an Indian Space Research Organisation scientist, portrays in the movie is Nambi Narayanan, whose life is the subject of the movie. With Madhavan playing the lead character of scientist Nambi Narayanan, "Rocketry" was launched on June 1. India, France, Canada, Georgia, and Serbia all served as locations for the film. Suriya and Shah Rukh Khan appeared in the movie as cameos, and Madhavan revealed that neither of them received any payment for their participation.
