Recent Arrest Related to the Plot
Earlier on Thursday, Navi Mumbai police arrested a suspected member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in connection with an alleged plot to assassinate Salman Khan. The accused, identified as Sukha, alias Sukhbir Balbir Singh, was captured in Panipat, Haryana, by a team from the Panvel Town police.
The official report stated that Sukha had allegedly contracted gang members to kill Khan. He was also in communication with a handler named Dogar, believed to be operating from Pakistan.
Authorities revealed that Singh, along with the Bishnoi gang, had planned to use weapons sourced from Pakistan, including AK-47s and M16 rifles, to carry out the assassination. The Navi Mumbai police previously registered a case against 18 identified members of the Bishnoi gang for conspiring to kill Salman Khan following a shooting incident outside his Bandra residence.
Investigations uncovered that the Lawrence Bishnoi and Sampat Nehra gangs had deployed around 60 to 70 members to monitor Salman Khan’s movements. They conducted reconnaissance at his Bandra residence, Panvel farmhouse, and various film shooting locations.
