One of the first names to be announced for King Charles III's coronation concert is Katy Perry, followed by Take That and Lionel Richie.
More than 20,000 people are expected to attend on May 7 on the grounds of Windsor Castle. At the celebration, other performers include the Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel, the Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli, and the vocalist Freya Ridings.
The show's themes will include love, respect, and optimism. With 57 million CDs sold globally, Perry has a relationship with King Charles III, who named her to the British Asian Trust in 2020.
She stated that she is "excited" to be performing and "helping to shine a further light" on the trust's children's protection fund, which generates money for causes such as discovering solutions to child trafficking.
Richie, who served as The Prince's Trust charity's first global ambassador, described the coronation concert as "a once-in-a-lifetime event" and an "honor and celebration." Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, and Mark Owen, the other members of Take That, haven't performed together in four years, so Robbie Williams isn't likely to perform with them.
They declared, "We can't wait" to return to the stage, and they've promised an orchestra, live band, and military drummers to support them.
With community choirs and singing groups joining forces to form the 300-strong Coronation Choir, which will be mentored by Amanda Holden and Motsi Mabuse prior to their performance, there will also be allusions to the four nations of the UK.
A virtual choir from the Commonwealth will also perform. As one of the evening's attractions, a light show featuring drone displays, lasers, projections, and illuminations is planned.
On BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2, and BBC Sounds, the concert, which was created by BBC Studios, will be broadcast live from Winsor Castle's gardens. The concert will feature a wide range of musical styles, including dance, spoken word, and everything in between.
Public participants as well as a few royal guests will attend.
