One of the celebrated directors, Karan Johar, will get recognition for his significant contribution to the worldwide entertainment industry at the British Parliament on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in front of the Lords and Members of Parliament.
The ceremony will be held at the Palace of Westminster, where the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the two houses of the British Parliament, convene.
As a result of filming numerous of his projects there, including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Aye Dil Hai Mushkil, Johar has a unique bond with the UK.
He was named a Goodwill Ambassador for Visit Britain in 2012 as part of a unique initiative to draw tourists to the nation and encourage them to explore it.
His blockbuster mega-hits Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and My Name Is Khan broke records as the biggest-grossing Indian films in the UK, upon their separate theatrical releases.
He currently serves as the director of Dharma Productions, one of India's premier film production companies.
Johar has won numerous honors, including six Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award. In 2020, the Indian government presented him with the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian honor in the nation.
