Jonathan Majors, known for his roles in "Lovecraft Country" and "The Last Black Man in San Francisco," was arrested on charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment following a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman in a Chelsea apartment on Saturday morning. The victim reported to the police that she was assaulted and suffered minor injuries to her head and neck.
Jonathan Majors' representative has refuted the allegations, maintaining that he is innocent and hopeful of vindication. According to his attorney, Priya Chaudhry, Majors was in fact involved in an altercation with a woman he was familiar with and they are gathering evidence to prove his innocence. This includes video footage and written statements from the woman retracting the charges. The U.S. Army has put on hold its advertisement campaign featuring Majors, citing concern over the allegations and the need for the investigation to conclude before taking any action.
