Is This The Final Installment? James Wan's Horror Series May Come to an End With Conjuring 4

Filmmaker James Wan may have spilt a secret - The Conjuring 4 could be the final movie in the franchise. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick will return as a screenwriter after penning the second and third Conjuring movies. James Wan and Peter Safran will also return in that role. 

The fourth and final instalment to feature the Warrens. Wan said that we want to take our time to ensure we get it right and to ensure the emotion of the Warren that we want to tell is going into and possibly winding up. "We just want to make sure that it is the right thing, the right story that we're telling."


The Conjuring is a horror film franchise comprising six films and a television series. The franchise is centred around the work of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, based on real-life paranormal investigators of the same name. 

The first film in the franchise, "The Conjuring," was released in 2013 and was a critical and commercial success. Several sequels followed it, including "The Conjuring 2" (2016), "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It" (2021), and "The Conjuring: The Enfield Poltergeist" (2016).

The franchise also includes the "Annabelle" series of films, which are spin-offs of "The Conjuring" and focus on the demonic doll named Annabelle that appears in the first "Conjuring" film. The movie in the franchise is known for its use of jump scares and suspenseful atmosphere and has received praise for its solid performances and well-written storylines.

The franchise has been successful at the box office, with the films grossing over $1.5 billion worldwide. The franchise has a large and dedicated fan base, and many films have inspired popular memes.
