Gujarat prepares for the prestigious Filmfare Awards 69th edition in 2024

The 69th edition of the Hyundai Filmfare Awards, in partnership with Gujarat Tourism, will be held on January 28, 2024, at GIFT City located in Gandhinagar. This prestigious event will celebrate the finest accomplishments in Indian cinema. The Filmfare Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place over two days, starting with a Curtain Raiser on January 27, 2024, showcasing a fashion show by Shantanu and Nikhil, and a musical performance by Parthiv Gohil, leading up to the main event on January 28, 2024.

Hosts of the awards ceremony

Karan Johar, a filmmaker and talk show host, along with actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Maniesh Paul, will be hosting an upcoming awards ceremony. The event will include dazzling performances from popular celebrities such as Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Kartik Aaryan. The awards ceremony will be held on January 28th, with the Curtain Raiser being hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Karishma Tanna.

 

The festivities will begin on January 27 at the Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre with a curtain raiser to see winners in technical award categories honoured with the Black Lady. Key details, such as performer and host names, were revealed at a press conference in Mumbai attended by guests including Hareet Shukla (IAS, Principal Secretary, Tourism, Devasthanam Management, Civil Aviation, and Pilgrimage, Government of Gujarat). Karan Johar is a filmmaker, and Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor are actors.

Who are the Performers? 

The upcoming Filmfare Awards ceremony promises to bring an amazing array of performances by top Bollywood celebrities. The star-studded line-up includes popular actors like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Kartik Aaryan. These talented performers are all set to dazzle the audience with their incredible moves and make it a night to remember.

Speaking on the occasion, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel said, "This grand event will provide a platform for our talented artistes and filmmakers." "We are excited to showcase Gujarat's natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and strong infrastructure, as well as our proactive governance and policies like the Cinematic Tourism Policy and the Gujarat Tourism Policy. These policies are designed to create an effective and efficient ecosystem for filmmakers. Our goal is to become a premier film destination, attracting new projects and investments," he stated.
Mulubhai Bera, Minister for Tourism, Cultural Activities, Forest and Environment and Climate Change, Government of Gujarat, commented on the association, saying, "Gujarat's diverse offerings in locations, ranging from landscapes and beaches to majestic forests, provide an ideal backdrop for film shoots and tourism."
