About The Hedge Knight
The Hedge Knight" is adapted from Martin's beloved trilogy of Dunk and Egg novellas, which narrate the journey of "Dunk" (Ser Duncan the Tall, destined to become Lord Commander of the Kingsguard) and "Egg" (Aegon V Targaryen, future king) as they embark on adventures throughout Westeros about a century before the events depicted in the novels. Similarly, His ‘ A Song of Ice & Fire’ novels and the book ‘Fire & Blood’ have been adapted into the HBO series Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, respectively.
The description: “A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros … a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”
Set a century prior to the events of Game of Thrones, The Hedge Knight tracks the journey of two unlikely heroes across Westeros: Ser Duncan the Tall, a youthful and brave yet inexperienced knight, and Egg, his small but spirited squire.
The official synopsis describes the setting as an era where the Targaryen dynasty still reigns on the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon remains vivid in living memory. In this backdrop, great destinies, formidable adversaries, and perilous adventures await the unlikely yet extraordinary companions.
The series is written and executive produced by George R.R. Martin and Ira Parker, with Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis serving as executive producers. Game of Thrones ended in 2019, and House of the Dragon is set for its second season this summer.
The series is set to have six episodes.
