Christopher Nolan and Greta Gerwig secured Best Director nominations, and their films Oppenheimer and Barbie were acknowledged with nominations in the Best Drama and Best Musical or Comedy categories.
Barbenheimer Lead actors Cillian Murphy and Margot Robbie received well-deserved recognition, with Murphy earning a nomination for Best Actor in a Drama and Robbie being nominated for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.

Netflix showcased its dominance among film distributors, collecting a total of 13 nominations, closely followed by Warner Bros. Pictures, which earned an impressive 12 nominations.
In the TV category, 'Succession' took the lead, notably earning nominations in the Lead Actor In a Drama Series and Supporting Actor categories. ‘The Bear’, gained five nominations, including a remarkable 33rd nomination for Meryl Streep. Hulu's Only Murders In the Building takes centre stage.'The Crown' secured four nominations. HBO/Max emerged as the top TV distributor with 17 nods, closely followed by Netflix with 15 nominations.
Among the newcomers, HBO's The Last of Us, Paramount+'s 1923, Netflix's The Diplomat, and Amazon Freeve's Jury Duty shine with multiple nominations, securing recognition in the Best Drama/Comedy Series category.
In the longform series categories, Netflix's Beef, Prime Video's Daisy Jones and the Six, and FX's Fargo take the lead with three nominations each, including a nod for Best Limited Series.
The newly introduced category, Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television, showcases six nominated comedians acknowledged for traditional stand-up performances lasting at least 30 minutes. Excluding roles in TV series, limited series, anthology series, or TV movies, these performances must be delivered on a recognized media platform. The nominees include Ricky Gervais, Trevor Noah, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman, and Wanda Sykes.

The Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award includes eight nominees chosen from films with a box office gross of $150 million, with $100 million from the U.S. domestic box office, and/or significant digital streaming viewership recognized by industry sources. Films released after Nov. 22 through the end of the year may qualify based on projected box office and streaming performance. Golden Globes voters will decide the winners based on excellence among the qualifying films.
The 2024 Golden Globe Awards ceremony is scheduled to be live for January 7, 2024 at 5 p.m, at the Beverly Hilton. It will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+ after the rights were acquired by CBS, taking over from NBC, which chose not to renew its deal. While a host is yet to be announced, Emmy-winning producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner are set to be showrunners, with Weiss also directing.
In the previous year, the Golden Globes returned to broadcast TV after a hiatus prompted by membership-related issues that ultimately led to the reorganization of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Currently owned by longtime producer Dick Clark Productions and Eldridge (DCP being a subsidiary of Deadline parent Penske Media), the awards have undergone changes, including the expansion and diversification of the voter base.
At last year's Globes, notable film winners included Steven Spielberg's The Fabelmans and The Banshees of Inisherin, while on the TV side, House of the Dragon and Abbott Elementary emerged as significant victors.
