Gina Lollobrigada - The world's most beautiful woman is dead

Gina Lollobrigida, a legend in the Italian film industry, who became a symbol of Italy's vibrant rebirth following World War II in the 1950s, has died at the age of 95.

Based on the title of one of her movies, she was called "the most beautiful woman in the world."

She was born in 1927 in Subiaco, Italy. She began her acting career in the 1940s and appeared in over 60 films throughout her career. She is best known for her roles in films such as "Beautiful But Dangerous" (1955), "Trapeze" (1956), and "Come September" (1961).

She was one of the most popular actresses of the 1950s and 1960s and was considered a sex symbol of that era. She also had a successful career as a photojournalist and has published several books on her photographs. She has also sculpted, with her sculptures being showcased in a number of galleries and exhibitions.

She was the first actress to win a Golden Globe for a foreign-language performance, for her role in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" (1956). She was also a Goodwill Ambassador for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. She has been honored with numerous awards and accolades throughout her career, including the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement in 1991.
