Gigi Hadid arrested for drug possession in Cayman Islands, released on bail

After marijuana was recently discovered in her suitcase, Gigi Hadid reportedly had a problem with customs and was therefore charged with narcotics possession. Gigi had already drawn criticism for an incident involving cocaine at Victoria's Secret event back in 2015. This is not the first time she has been linked to drug-related news. Gigi Hadid and a pal reportedly flew in on a private jet to the Cayman Islands, according to the local news source Cayman Marl Road. They were detained on suspicion of smuggling marijuana after customs authorities allegedly discovered marijuana and associated goods in their luggage. They were sent to the Prisoner Detention Centre and then freed on bail. Two days later, on July 12, they appeared in court, made a guilty plea, and were each fined $1,000. Grand Cayman has furthermore approved its medical use since 2017. She continued to enjoy her stay on the island, and her record is still clean.
