Fukrey 3 review: Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat humor spills everywhere

The third installment of the Fukrey film series, titled Fukrey 3, continues the trend of taking the audience for a ride, much like politicians during elections. The film revolves around the characters Choocha, Hunny, Lali, and Pandit-ji, who possess preternatural psychical abilities. This time, their abilities are matched with physical ones, resulting in a film filled with scatological humor and absurdity.

The story begins in East Delhi, where Bholi Punjaban is contesting elections on the issue of water scarcity. The fukras, initially meant to help her campaign, end up causing chaos and are sent to South Africa. There, they discover that their sweat and urine can be turned into petrol. This absurd concept is the film's central idea, along with other bizarre elements such as Choocha and Hunny getting married and riding a tank into town.

Fukrey 3 is a mix of genres, including slapstick comedy, sci-fi, adventure, political satire, eco-conscious thriller, and even a crocodile-based B-movie. While the crocodile provides some humor, the rest of the cast fails to impress. Pulkit Samrat, Richa Chadha, and Pankaj Tripathi sleepwalk through their roles, while Varun Sharma shines as the guileless Choocha.

The first Fukrey film stood out for its unique portrayal of East Delhi and relatable characters. However, the sequels have lost that charm and become progressively dumber. It is a disappointing progression for the comedy series, as it loses the elements that made it appealing in the first place.

Overall, Fukrey 3 is a slapstick comedy filled with absurdity and scatological humor. While it may entertain some viewers, it fails to live up to the charm of the original film.
