Smash Mouth's main singer, Steve Harwell, 56, has died. Smash Mouth was a well-known pop rock band. The band's manager, Robert Hayes, stated that Harwell died quietly while surrounded by loved ones at his Boise, Idaho, home. Acute liver failure was the cause of the death.

With hits like "All Star" and "Then the Morning Comes," Smash Mouth rose to prominence in the late 1990s. Harwell, who is well-known for his endearing personality and amusing alt-rock voice, greatly contributed to the band's success. Some of their biggest songs were included in their second album, "Astro Lounge," including the Grammy-nominated tune "All Star," which was used in the Shrek film.

California native Harwell, who began his musical career in the rap group F.O.S. before founding Smash Mouth in 1994, was born in 1967. The band had a lot of success and released two platinum records. Additionally, Harwell appeared in the comedy movie "Rat Race" and was good friends with Guy Fieri of the Food Network.

His management commended Harwell's relentless drive and resolve to attain the pinnacles of pop stardom and referred to him as a true American original. Because of how fully he lived his life, everyone who knew and loved him will miss him dearly.

Harwell departed Smash Mouth in 2021 due to health problems. Eight years prior, he had received a cardiomyopathy diagnosis and had gone through a number of medical setbacks. With a new lead singer, the band carried on with their tour.

In addition to his mother, Harwell will be buried in San Jose, California, after being cremated in Boise. For Smash Mouth, his passing signals the end of an era and creates a gap in the music business.
