Dasara review | Nani debuts as 'mass' action star

The success of 'Dasara' at the box office in Tollywood is expected to be driven by two factors. Firstly, there is no major competition in the market, and secondly, it coincides with a festival day, Sri Rama Navami. Natural star Nani, who is known for his boy-next-door image, has experimented with a never-seen-before role in this mass and swaggy film. He portrays an action hero and mouths slang, which is a contrast to his previous roles. Fans are excited to see Nani in this new avatar, and the emotionally tight narration is said to be one of the film's highlights. On the opening day, the film is expected to earn over Rs. 20 crores from all its language versions, with over 70% occupancy in most of the released centres and languages.

The film has received above-average reviews for its content, performance, and execution, with Nani's performance being particularly praised. Due to high expectations for this period of action drama, there were advanced mass bookings in both domestic and overseas markets. The Telugu version of the movie has already grossed over USD 5 lakhs through its premieres in the US, which is reportedly the highest ever for Nani in the overseas territory. Bookings are said to be super good in the Telugu states and slightly less in other languages. According to reports, Nani's Hindi version of the movie has achieved a career-high of over Rs. 2.25 crores in advanced bookings. This is his first pan-India release, and the film is expected to dominate Ajay Devgan's 'Bholaa' at the Indian box office.
