BTS slips in ranking for first time in 5 years

For more than 5 years, BTS has consistently topped the Korea Brand Reputation Research Institute's monthly brand reputation rankings. However, the most recent January report reveals a significant shift, with SEVENTEEN, a new K-pop group, rising to the top of the list, dethroning the reigning kings.

In January 2024, SEVENTEEN became the first artist to hold the #1 position in the K-Pop boy group brand reputation ranking, following their impressive growth in popularity, particularly in album sales, following BTS' reign a few months ago.

Interestingly, the second position is also taken by other than BTS! NCT has secured the second position this month, with BTS still placed high at third place.

According to koreaboo.com, all the BTS members now enlisted in the military, which makes sense that the brand's reputation would decline. According to the report, the brand points have declined by approximately 47% since December. It is expected that once you complete military enlistments later this year, it will be unsurprising to see it go back up again!
