Brendan Fraser, the action and comedy hero of desire in Hollywood, is back in "The Whale." The teaser was released on Tuesday after getting a strong appreciation for Fraser's acting during previews at film festivals.
Darren Aronofsky, recognized for the film "Black Swan," directed "The Whale, with connection Matthew Libatique as cinematographer.
The "The Whale" teaser grabs attention with its gloomy yet sensitive shades. As the title suggests, Fraser appears in this one-minute trailer with a hefty 600-pound figure. Fraser has also been photographed having a nasogastric tube inserted into his mouth. After "The Whale" was screened at the Venice Film Festival, the audience gave it a six-minute standing ovation in appreciation. Following its premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival and the London Film Festival, the movie received equivalent enthusiastic reviews and applause. Many analysts predict that Fraser will win the Academy Award.
Charlie (Fraser), an overweight teacher who intends to eat himself to death, is the main character of "The Whale." After his gay lover's death and eventual desertion, he experiences severe suffering. Charlie gradually makes the decision to stop eating.
Sadie Sink, best known for her role as Max in Stranger Things, plays Charlie's 17-year-old daughter in the movie as she struggles to get back along with her father. On December 9, 2022, The Whale will be released in the USA.
