Bollywood actress Zareen Khan recently appeared in a Kolkata court regarding a cheating case at Narkeldanga police station and was granted interim bail. The court, providing some relief by granting bail, instructed Zareen Khan not to leave the country without permission.
Following arguments from Khan's counsel, the Sealdah court granted her interim bail until December 26, requiring a personal bond of Rs 30,000 and imposing a restriction on international travel without prior permission from Kolkata Police.
Zareen, in disguise with a mask and black cap, appeared in court for an hour-long hearing, responding to arguments from both the council and the judge. An advocate from the complainant's side requested in court that the actor remove her mask for proper identification. She, arriving from Mumbai, was also mandated to attend every court hearing.
The incident, dating back to 2018, when at a Durga Puja, Zareen Khan didn’t show up to perform at the event for which she received Rs 12 lakh in advance, after which organisers filed a complaint.
A few months ago, Kolkata police summoned Bollywood actor Zareen Khan following the issuance of an arrest warrant in September. Zareen clarified, citing miscommunication on flight tickets and accommodation as reasons for missing the show.
