Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is in advanced talks with star Lara Dutta for the role of Kaikeyi in his upcoming film Ramayan. As to a Pinkvilla source, he is also eager to have Bobby Deol join the cast as Kumbhkaran. The portal further stated that talks are ongoing with Sunny Deol over Lord Hanuman's part.

In his opinion, Lara Dutta is ideal for the role of Princess Kaikeyi, King Dasharatha's third consort. Lara is eager to explore Nitesh Tiwari's magical universe since it features a crucial figure who sets up the entire Ramayana conflict, a source close to the production said.
According to the report, while Ramayana is envisioned as a trilogy, Lara will play a significant role in Ramayana: Part One. She is anticipated to start shooting the movie with Ranbir Kapoor in March. Casting for characters still needs to be done, aside from Kaikeyi.
Bobby Deol to play Kumbhkaran?
Pinkvilla sources claim that Nitesh Tiwari is eager to cast Bobby Deol as Kumbhkaran, but they have not heard anything from the actor. "Bobby has not responded to Nitesh Tiwari regarding the Ramayana. He will take a call in the following two months and may or may not work on the movie. Following Animal's success, Bobby is currently inundated with offers from all sectors of the industry, and he will be making his decisions over the next few months, the insider stated.
Ranbir will appear as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan. According to a previous Pinkvilla report, Sai Pallavi would play Sita in Ramayan, which also stars Kannada actor Yash from KGF fame as Ravana.
