Arcane Season 2: The popular Netflix series Arcane will conclude with its second season in November of 2024. This announcement brings bittersweet feelings for the fans as the much-awaited season is finally declared and the trailer looks fantastic, but because it's the last, the end of the series is approaching too. However, this is just the beginning of many more storylines in Riot Games' animated world League of Legends.
Arcane's Phenomenal Success
"Arcane" premiered as the first TV series from Riot Games and the French animation studio Fortiche in November 2021. The series, created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, grew popular not only among League of Legends enthusiasts but also among newcomers who got hooked on the series for its engaging plot and nuanced characters. "Arcane" won four Emmys, including Outstanding Animated Program in 2022, and received widespread acclaim for its animation, soundtrack, and compelling story.
What to expect from Season 2?
Featuring Hailee Steinfeld and Ella Purnell as sisters Vi and Jinx, the story unfolds their transition from siblings to rivals as the mystical city of Piltover goes to war with its dark criminal underground, Zaun. The stage for conflict is set for Season 2 as it continues from the aftereffects of Jinx's attack. The trailer concludes with a climactic combat between Vi, armed with gigantic gauntlets, and Jinx, carrying a Gatling rifle.
“From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season.” - Arcane Producer Christian Linke
The Arcane team is now developing further League of Legends-themed storylines for TV series and possibly films, since there are many more stories to tell in the Runeterra realm. More information on these projects will be available before the end of the year.
