In the midst of the growing controversy surrounding the Hindi film The Kerala Story, music legend AR Rahman posted a video of a Hindu wedding that took place inside a mosque in Kerala.
The Kerala Story, directed by Sudipto Sen, has been criticized by Kerala's ruling Left Front and the Congress for claiming that "approximately 32,000 women" left the state after converting to Islam and joining ISIS. The Congress and CPI(M) in Kerala contend that these assertions are exaggerated and false, while the film's creators, including producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah, assert that it is based on a true story and that each scene is authentic.
AR Rahman, an Academy Award-winning composer, posted a picture of a Hindu wedding that took place in a mosque in Kerala in 2020 amid the controversy. This post is about Anju and Sharath's Hindu-style wedding, which took place in a mosque and was officiated by a Hindu priest.
While sharing a wedding video, a Twitter user wrote, "Here is another #KeralaStory." The video was apparently shared in an effort to promote harmony among people. Bravo, love for humankind must be genuine and mending," he composed.
Shashi Tharoor, a senior leader in the Congress, was one of those to criticize The Kerala Story's creators, saying that they engaged in "gross exaggeration" and "distortion" of the state's reality.
In the meantime, petitions opposing the controversial Hindi film, which is scheduled for release on Friday, May 5, were turned down by the Supreme Court on Wednesday. The requests, including the one which looked for restricted help that a disclaimer ought to be made in the title of the film such that it is a work of fiction, were referenced for critical posting before a seat containing Boss Equity D Y Chandrachud and Equity P S Narasimha.
