Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly acquired a plot of land in Ayodhya measuring approximately 930 sq. meters (10,000 sq. feet) . Just a few days before the scheduled Pran Pratishtha of the Lord Ram Temple, the superstar reportedly paid Rs. 14. 50 crore for The Sarayu, a 7-star mixed-use enclave in Ayodhya developed by Mumbai-based The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL).
The Sarayu covers 51 acres. In a statement about the property investment, Bachchan said -
“I am looking forward to embark on this journey with The House of Abhinandan Lodha for The Sarayu in Ayodhya, a city that holds a special place in my heart. The timeless spirituality and cultural richness of Ayodhya have forged an emotional connection that transcends geographical boundaries. This is a start of a heartfelt journey into the soul of Ayodhya, where tradition and modernity seamlessly co-exist, creating an emotional tapestry that resonates with me deeply. I am looking forward to building my home in the global spiritual capital.”
Location of the property
According to reports, the property is located about 15 minutes just away from the Ram Temple and 30 minutes away from the Ayodhya International Airport. Chairman of HoABL, Abhinandan Lodha said, “His investment in our Ayodhya project reflects confidence in the city’s economic potential and a deep appreciation for its spiritual heritage.” Further, he added that the Big B’s association would turn the project into "a symbol of Ayodhya’s global spiritual significance".
Reportedly, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is inviting around 7,000 guests comprising well-known personalities of the country including from Big B and Narendra Modi, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, actress Kangana Ranaut, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, yoga guru Ramdev, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, cricketer Virat Kohli, and industrialists Mukesh Ambai, Ratan Tata, and Gautam Adani.

Meanwhile, on the work side, the Shehenshah of Bollywood was last seen in the 2023 release- Ganapath, along with Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon. He currently has Kalki 2898 AD and The Intern's Hindi remake in the works, in which he will once again share screen space with Deepika Padukone. Earlier in 2015, the two had worked together on the movie Piku.
