Amber Heard quashes rumors of being cut from 'Aquaman 2', confirmed to appear in newly released footage

Amber Heard, a 37-year-old actress, is set to reprise her role as Mera in the upcoming blockbuster Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which stars Jason Momoa in the titular role. Last year, the film was hit with controversy during Amber's legal battle with her ex-husband, Johnny Depp. A petition calling for her removal from the film reached 4.5 million signatures, and she claimed during the trial that her role had been reduced. Walter Hamada, president of DC Films at Warner Bros, testified that concerns over chemistry between Amber and Jason led to discussions of recasting, rather than her legal situation.

Reports last year suggested that Amber's role had been axed from the film, but a spokesperson for her called those reports inaccurate. During the trial, Amber denied that she got the role only because of her connection to her ex-husband. The trial centered around Johnny suing Amber over an article she wrote in The Washington Post in 2018, which detailed her experience of domestic abuse. Johnny argued that the article suggested he was physically and sexually abusive towards her during their marriage.
