Fans of the action thriller Pushpa: The Rule have been eagerly awaiting news about the film's release. Since last week, rumors were circulating that the movie, directed by Sukumar, might not hit theaters on its previously announced date of August 15. Arjun took to his X handle, unveiling a new poster of Pushpa 2: The Rule, featuring himself in the iconic role of Pushpa Raj. The poster shows him wearing a grey t-shirt under a brown shirt, with a matching bandana, and holding a sword menacingly on his shoulder. His caption read, “#Pushpa2TheRule in cinemas from December 6th, 2024.” This announcement has set a new date for fans to mark on their calendars.
About Pushpa 2: The Rule
Pushpa 2: The Rule is the much-anticipated sequel to the 2021 Telugu blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. The first film, directed by Sukumar, showcased Allu Arjun as the anti-hero Pushpa Raj and Rashmika Mandanna as his love interest, Srivalli. Fahadh Faasil, who was introduced at the end of the first film, is expected to have a more prominent role in the sequel. The original movie, set against the backdrop of red sandalwood smuggling, was a massive hit and earned Allu Arjun a National Film Award for his performance.
The delay in the sequel’s release avoids a crowded August 15 slot, including releases like Nikkhil Advani's Vedaa, and Puri Jagannadh's Double iSmart. With the new date in December, fans can look forward to an action-packed year-end with Allu Arjun back in his electrifying role.
