Unstable, a comedy series created by father-son duo Rob Lowe, John Own Lowe, and Victor Fresco for Netflix, has achieved global popularity and has been listed among the top ten shows in 45 countries within a week of its release. Despite its initial success, the show has only managed to accumulate 11,360,000 viewing hours in its first five days, raising concerns about its chances of renewal for a second season. Its viewing figures have been compared to Uncoupled, another star-driven comedy that Netflix cancelled after it garnered just 26.52 million hours of viewership in the second week. For Unstable to have a good chance of being renewed, it will need to generate significantly higher viewing numbers. Although Netflix may take a few weeks or months to decide, many Netflix comedy shows struggle to make it past the first season.
