Actor Dinesh Phadnis, also referred to as "Freddy," died Thursday, December 5. He rose to fame as a result of his role in the critically acclaimed television series CID. Dayanand Shetty, his co-star on the show, affirmed this. The actress, who was 57 years old, had severe liver damage and was dependent on a ventilator.
Reports state that multiple organ failure claimed Dinesh Phadnis' life on December 5 at 12:08 a.m. at Mumbai's Tunga Hospital. The previous evening, he was taken off the ventilator.

For his portrayal of "Fredericks" in the television series "CID," Dinesh Phadnis gained widespread recognition. In the show, to which he dedicated more than two decades, actor Shivaji Satam portrayed ACP Pradyuman. "CID," which has been on Indian television for the longest, made its debut in 1998. Dinesh Phadnis appeared briefly in "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah," a popular television show, in addition to his role in "CID."
