Persons The definition of "man and woman" in the Cambridge Dictionary has been updated. Who identifies as a gender other than their biological sex are included in the updated definition of "woman" and "man."
A "Man" is defined as "an adult who lives and identifies as a male even though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth" in the most recent update.
A woman is defined as "an adult who lives and identifies as female even though they may have been perceived as having a different sex at birth."
According to the definition as it stands right now, two examples of men are: "Mark is a trans man (= a man who was perceived as a woman at birth)" Additionally, "their doctor advised them to transition surgically after living as a man for a while."
The examples given for "Woman" include "Mary is a woman who was assigned male at birth" and "She was the first trans woman elected to a national office."
