Teen rejected by family tops in intermediate exam

Shwetha, a 17-year-old girl, faced a challenging situation when her parents discovered her relationship with a boy from a lower caste. To escape the disapproval of her family, she decided to leave her home and abandon her education. However, her plans were thwarted as the police, recognizing her status as a minor, intervened and rescued her. Sadly, upon her return, Shwetha's family rejected her, leading to her placement in a girls' children's home in the city.

Two years later, Shwetha achieved an impressive accomplishment by scoring 945 marks in her exams, securing the top position among her peers at Kallam Anji Reddy Vocational Junior College. She now nurtures a dream of becoming a mathematics professor. Recently, Shwetha resumed communication with her parents, who were elated upon learning about her exceptional academic performance. They expressed their desire for her to return home. However, Shwetha finds herself undecided about her plans and whether she should reconcile with her family.

The government children's home for girls observed a higher pass percentage and improved scores this year among the 25-plus orphans and n who appeared for the SSC and Intermediate exams. Recognizing their outstanding performance and their enthusiasm for further education, the Women's Development and child welfare department intends to enroll them in JEE and NEET preparation programs and provide tutoring support.

Although Shwetha had previously discontinued her education in Women's Development for fear of being separated from her partner, he acknowledges that her studies would not necessarily have come to a halt had she stayed with him. She believes her partner would have encouraged her love for mathematics, but she also recognizes the need to work hard and rely on herself to achieve her goals.

Currently, Shwetha plans to pursue a BCom degree in college and immerse herself in the study of mathematics. She has chosen BCom because it offers the opportunity to continue her studies while also providing avenues in the field of accountancy. Shwetha's ultimate aspiration is to attain the position of professor. She is resolute in her decision to only return home once she has accomplished financial independence through her endeavors.
