Lt. Gen N S Sarna explained that the Indian Army has decided to introduce a computer-based online examination as the initial stage for screening soldier recruitment candidates. He stated that this change was necessary because of the increased technological threshold and the widespread availability of mobile phones in rural areas across the country.
The General believes that the youth today are equipped and enabled to take the online computer-based examination, thus making the recruitment process more accessible and equitable. This step was also taken to reduce the large crowds and enhance safety measures. Only those candidates who are selected after the online examination will be invited to attend the physical rallies.
