Sridhar Vembu, the founder and CEO of software-as-a-service (SaaS) giant Zoho Corporation, responded to his wife's claims that he abandoned her and their autistic kid on Tuesday by calling them "complete fiction" on social media.
Sridhar tweeted"It is complete fiction to say I financially abandoned Pramila and my son. They enjoy a far richer life than I do and I have supported them fully. My US salary for the last 3 years has been with her, and I gave our house to her. Her foundation also is supported by Zoho.”
Vembu went on to say that he and his wife Pramila Srinivasan have been engaged in the battle against autism for more than 15 years. Their son has autism, which has affected Vembu's relationship with his wife.
He said that the strain of his son's continued illness and countless therapies caused their marriage to fail. Additionally, he mentioned in his Twitter thread that his wife is bringing false accusations against him regarding his ownership stake in Zoho Corp.
This is in response to a Forbes report that claimed Vembu called his wife in November 2020 to get a divorce and submitted paperwork in August 2021. Later, during the divorce proceedings in California, where they had lived together for many years, his wife alleged that Vembu had secretly sold off a sizable portion of his Zoho holdings in a convoluted deal that transferred Zoho's intellectual property to India and ultimately gave the majority of the shares to his sister and her husband.
Vembu said in a tweet that he has never given anyone his company shares.
