Youtube Announces Indian American, Neal Mohan As New CEO

YouTube has announced Indian-American Neal Mohan will be its new Chief Executive Officer after long-time CEO Susan Wojcicki announced she would be stepping down. Mohan has been Wojcicki's top deputy for years, moving over from Google's ads business to YouTube in 2015.

He has set up a top-notch product and UX team, played pivotal roles in the launch of some of YouTube's biggest products, and led the Trust and Safety team.

Mohan is a well-known figure in the tech industry and has been instrumental in shaping the growth and success of YouTube since joining the company in 2015. He has a computer science and business background and has worked at Google since 2007. His leadership has helped YouTube stay ahead of its competitors and continue to grow, and he currently sits on the boards of personal styling service Stich Fix and gene testing firm 23andMe.

Neal Mohan, a longtime lieutenant of Susan Wojcicki, joined Google with the DoubleClick acquisition in 2007.

He has been with Google, YouTube's parent company, since 2008, and has held various leadership positions in product development and engineering at the company.

Before joining Google, Mohan worked at DoubleClick, a digital advertising company, where he led the development of the company's technology platform for publishers. Mohan has a background in computer science and holds a bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Madras, and a master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Mohan is widely regarded as an expert in online advertising technology and has played a key role in the development of Google's advertising products, including AdSense and AdWords.
