Empowering Women in Making Goa Swayampurna

Assocham Goa and Laghu Udyog Bharati - Goa in association with Women & Child Development Dept - Govt of Goa with Industry Partner - Vendanta Ltd organised a session on Skill development, entrepreneurship and Financial literacy.

 

The program was conducted in Balli village panchayat hall, Quepem and attended by 150 women participants. Also present were resource persons from four Govt Depts - Skill Dept, Women & Child dev dept, EDC and Nabard who explained the various schemes available for women and self help groups.

Sarpanch of Balli Village Panchayat Shri Govind Faldessai spoke about Nari Shakti and how women have progressed of late and embraced entrepreneurship. Also present was Dy Sarpanch Smt. Bindiya Gaonkar.

Our Industry partner Vedanta Ltd Shri Ashok Kharbe, Chief Human resource officer Malco Energy ltd Vendanta and CSR manager Niku Da Cunha threw light on how Vendanta had a program Shree Shakti which worked all over India to empower women and the social projects they did. Banking partner- Shri Adiyta Narvekar, Senior Manager (priority section) Bank of Baroda Goa region enumerated the various loan schemes available for women who want to start their own enterprise. Women & Child Dept Director Sangeeta Parob and Gauri Parob -CDPO Quepem explained the various schemes and initiatives of Women & Child dept. 

Deepali Naik DRDO projects South also told about the various initiatives DRDA undertook recently in South Goa

Women Empowerment chair of Assocham Goa - Pallavi Salgaocar stated that they planned to hold such programmes on skill development, entrepreneurship and financial literacy for women quarterly in different parts of Goa and lend a hand to Goa Govt’s mission of empowering women in making Goa Swayampurna.
